Inside this machine is everything you’d expect of a gaming super-machine. Featuring a 6th-Gen Intel® Core™ i7-6820HK Quad Core processor and a Nvidia® GeForce® GTX 1080 graphics card, this laptop can play nearly every game imaginable at max settings, including virtual reality titles. Out of the box this laptop is plug-and-play compatible with most leading virtual reality headsets. Notably, the MSI GT73VR Titan Pro 4K features a UHD+ 4K IPS display with a max resolution of up to 3840×2160 pixels. Not very many gaming laptops, or laptops in general, support 4K resolution. Complementing the high-quality display, Nvidia® G-Sync™ technology synchronizes the refresh rate with the GPU eliminating many graphical glitches common on older systems. All this onboard power requires a lot of cooling; with dedicated thermal solutions for the CPU and GPU, MSI’s “Cooler Boost Titan” offers a substantial solution for regulating internal temperatures.
The laptop itself is physically attractive, but doesn’t distinguish itself from the competition. It features an aluminum black chassis with red accents and a Steel Series 3 keyboard with RGB LED backlighting. Through the MSI Dragon Center application, users can control and customize many aspects of their system, including the RGB keyboard.
The MSI GT73VR Titan Pro 4K isn’t particularly revolutionary for the price point and there isn’t much else to say about it other than that it’s incredibly powerful. Without a doubt this machine can meet any of your computational or gaming needs and will not become obsolete for a long time. Given that this machine is intended as a desktop replacement, it suffers from a limited battery life off-power and weighs close to 9 pounds. Traveling and gaming on-the-go with this laptop is not advised.
