Projection in the Smart Home

With the advent of the smart home upon us, Beam is lighting the way with its seamless integration into your household. Beam is powered by an Android computer sporting a 1.3GHz dual-core processor and 8GB of storage for apps, photos, games, or anything else you might want. It comes down to what you want Beam to do for you. It has onboard WiFi, Bluetooth, and stereo speakers for incredibly easy use, all controlled by the Beam Remote app on Android and iOS. The most apparent use of these features are for home entertainment. Beam supports Airplay and Miracast and can project television and movies directly into your bedroom, use any Android app on the marketplace, or even just be used to showcase your photos and videos. The possibilities are virtually endless, how you want to utilize it is up to you.

One of the most appealing features of the Beam is that it can be programmed to automatically perform actions with ease, even for people who have no programming experience. By using a basic programming function known as an “If/Then” statement, it allows users to customize Beam to fit their individual visions. For example, users could say “If it’s 7:00 PM on Monday till Friday, then display the local news.” This feature appeals to me as a tech enthusiast and occasional programmer, I would likely spend hours upon hours tailoring Beam to perfectly fit my lifestyle.

I have nothing but praise for Beam. Its gorgeous innovative design and incredible futuristic functionality is exciting, to say the least, and I hope that it becomes widely used in smart homes all over the world. In fact, Beam has won the prestigious CES Innovation Award in the Smart Home category at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. Congratulations to the Beam team! They also announced Beam for Business, a cloud-based system that integrates Beam effortlessly into hospitality, retail, and public spaces. I believe that Beam has great potential to be the next technological innovation that we happily welcome into our lives.
